The Waynewood School of Hope

haracter Development activities are incorporated into the school’s program to support positive development of students’ social skills and self-esteem.

Our approach to character development follows the nationally known Time to Enrich program developed by the Girls’ and Boys’ Town National Resource and Training Center.

We will provide activities to stimulate students’ thinking in six key areas of character:  Social Development, Education, Recreation, Healthy Living, Citizenship, and Career Awareness.

All of the activities use group discussion and praise as ways to teach life skills and reinforce their use of those skill during school hours and outside of school hours.  “Praise points” are utilized to reinforce appropriate behaviors and skills.
